Hello there.

[Here's one former farmer girl in an obvious forest scene. And she's looking quite happy, smiling down at the screen.]

I was wondering if I could get an opinion on what to do about something I've run into here in Ilex. You see-

[She turns the view to show her little entourage of Pokémon eating lunch. The Roselia and Ivysaur are sharing some food, with her Paras skitters between them for a share of his own, getting amused looks from the nearby Sudowoodo. A young Blitzle is near Anissa herself, and her Petilil?

Her Petilil is eating a bit off on her own, but there's a Carnivine levitating over her head. It's not making any move to hurt her though- If anything it's failing at contact in general. Just hovering and staring and worrying its vines together. It tries to tap her once, but jolts back when Petilil looks up confused. Apparently this has happened before. And apparently Anissa finds it funny.]

He's been here doing that since we sat down. I would catch him, but if I do that he'll just be sent back to storage, before he gets to talk to her.

What do you think? Should I give him a chance before I try battling him?

Oh, congratulations! That's always very exciting. I remember when my starter evolved for the first time.

[But sadly, her starter is lost to the world, thanks to her trip home.]

I'm sure that will come in handy. I have a Pokémon like that, too. But as for me...I don't really know where I am, either. It's really dark in Rock Tunnel.

Is it a straight path? I mean... can you get lost?

Actually, I can't tell if I'm lost or not...which means I either am, or I'm stumbling in the right direction. I don't think it's anything to worry about, though!

But, won't you run out of food or supplies? Are there wilds down there?

Oh, I'm prepared for this, Anissa! The first time I was here, I traveled by myself all the time. I always carry plenty of food.

....still, I do worry.

Just how long can you stay stuck in the dark like that?

Hmm...hopefully just a little bit longer. I took a wrong turn, I really didn't want to go through this cave. Now I'm traveling all by myself again, it looks like.

-did you lose a traveling group, too?

Hmm...it's more like I went the wrong way, and I told them to go on without me.

...do you even have contact with them now?

Oh, I do! But I'm not so sure if I'm going to be joining back up with them.

Oh- What do you plan to do next then, travel alone?

I admit, I'm rarely lonely with my team around me, but it would be sad after having a group to be part of.

Maybe I'll come back to Johto! I think there's a lot I'd like to see again before I give Kanto another try. All of the cities in Kanto are so far apart, too.

-does that mean it's a larger country, then?

Oh, what am I saying! What I mean is- If you decide to come back, I'd be happy to meet you somewhere!

I think the cities are just further apart...oh, and there are more caves! And even an entire mountain...

Oh, that would be great, Anissa! Are you still in Goldenrod?

-oh my! I wouldn't want to be caught on that without a nice supply, and... "escape rope", is it?

I actually wasn't- But I just got back into the city!

I have an escape rope...my destination is just on the other side, so I don't have much of a choice. I'll make it, though! I'm pretty tough.

Oh! That's good. I wasn't sure if you were or not, it seems like you always have a new Pokémon every time we talk.

-oh! I meant for if you're stuck on a mountain or- But I do see the problem.

But yes, I do have quite a group now, don't I? One day I will need to settle somewhere I can be with them all together, but for now- There's just so many amazing types to find!

I have the same problem myself sometimes. I have to stop myself from catching more, since I'm always on the move...

But I'd like to meet with you in person, then! Once I get out of here and get the next badge, I think I can jump back to Goldenrod.
