Six Seeds ✿ Goldenrod City ✿ Video

[On comes on a view of a Center room, complete with a made-up bed - and a bonus stash of green and orange and pink eggs, all laid out on it. Anissa allows the view to hang a couple seconds before she sets the 'gear down at an angle where she can stand in front of the bed, on screen - a Roselia carefully moving around the eggs and adjusting them as Anissa speaks up.]

Hello! I just got back to Goldenrod last night, and would you believe it? These eggs popped up by morning! It's not so shocking, since I was expecting it from some of my team for a while, and I did leave them all out in the room, but still- Isn't it sweet how they all appeared at once?

Anyways, while I'm very excited, it would be difficult to give this group proper attention, when I'm still bonding with my latest additions, so I think it's best I pass these on to good trainers and breeders. So please, contact me if you want any of them!

[And she'll be sending along a text of the types of eggs she has available, complete with the names of parents.]

I'm glad to. I saw quite a few of them around while I was travelling, but I guess I never thought about catching one, so this is, um... a really good experience, I guess.

Oh yes- Hoppips do start out with few if any attacks. But they grow out of that quickly!

[Luca's checking its entry now and its attacks, gasping a little.]

It gets pretty powerful, huh? Especially with the right care.

Yes- a lovely example of what something can grow into with the proper care, isn't it?

Like any plant, it'll grow strong and healthy as long as the right person's taking care of it. Your Hoppip must be quite the sight now.

Oh, she is! But she isn't a Hoppip anymore!

[Here- she has to point the gear view out the open window to show it, but there's a Jumpluff floating about outside.]

She reminds me of one of those dandelion puffs. [So his Hoppip would turn into one of those too, huh?] She's still pretty cute though.

[-sorry, she was actually grinning at Luca's reaction there, but she turns and waves over Chloe.

It only gets a flying somersault out of the Jumpluff, but still.]

She is- and she doesn't have any problems with winds anymore. She actually likes to spread that cotton of hers as we travel.

I wouldn't be shocked if we leave a cotton grove in our wake!

It'll be pretty easy to find you guys, in that case!

If I can manage it, I'll come visit you guys in Goldenrod sometime. I just have to take the train back from Saffron after all.

The daddy's a little difficult to train, but they're a tough little breed, if I do say so.

[And it's also Ruth's baby, Bulbasaur or not, so she would want that one in particular to go to a friendly face!]

Well, I'm not afraid of a challenge, if the baby's anything like his father. I'll definitely take good care of it.

You seem to have a lot of grass Pokémon.

Oh yes- I thought I would be more familiar with how to help grass-types grow, over any other types.

It hasn't been as true as I expected, but it's still amazing to discover how many different kinds there are.

I can understand how you feel. I've been interested in poisonous plants for a long time so it's interesting to see poison-grass Pokémon here and how they behave.

It is indeed! Especially since my favorite part of studying poisonous plants are the unseen healing possibilities.

I'm very curious to see if poison-grass Pokémon have similar capabilities. Powers like "Absorb" and "Ingrain" certainly hint it!

That's also what interests me a lot. [Because he's a health otaku as well as a poisonous plant otaku.] Usually everyone just thinks about poison as a danger, but no one ever stops to think about it ever being a cure.

If poison-grass Pokémon have the healing capabilities it might proof something.

I should think so!

I haven't come across any who naturally cure others... but they can certainly heal themselves! And that's quite helpful on a long trip.

I wouldn't want to run out of healing items and have to wait to reach a city to help my team.

Mmh. Self-healing abilities are really convenient. It's a good way to save items and use them mostly for other Pokémon... though it's still good to buy enough to last for all of them just in case. The moves seem to have a limit on how much you can use them.

Of course. It's the security they won't be too hurt I like about it. Between potions and those abilities, I could stay in Ilex quite a while.

[The Ilex Forest, huh? So awkward, since he just got lost there a few days ago.]

It seems like a pretty complicated forest, if you're not careful.

To find the way out? Very much so!

But I enjoyed the search for the way out. I never saw more grass-types in one place!

Hmm... well, that's always a plus. Even if it takes time to get out, you get to see how grass Pokémon behave in the nature. [Plus he had good luck and caught a Chikorita.]

It was very surprising, actually! I managed to catch my first wild without needing to battle, because the Carnivine was fond of my Petilil.

[And now she's seriously considering "Make New Friends" as a viable catching method.]

... so you can catch Pokémon without actually battling them? [Huh. Someone else is curious about it too... even if he doesn't really mind battling, but it would help with bonding with the Pokémon better.] That would actually be a really nice way.

That's right! You just have to catch them in a PokeBall, and they have to want to be caught.

There has to be trust, of course - or someone already on your team they would trust, as in my case - but it can be done!

[And wouldn't it be nice, if they could make that work more! Have some set place where wilds have a way to talk or befriend a trainer, and then decide without fighting?]

That does make sense. I mean, if they want to be caught, then it should be easy. [That's why sometimes he felt so unsure of catching anything when the Pokéball fails once.]

I think I might have to try that, sometime. I keep my Pokémon out fairly often.

Is anyone on your team especially friendly?

Hmm... most of my team is rather friendly, but I'd say Budew is the most. She's my starter and she's been really calm and friendly since the beginning.

Sounds just like my Ruth!

Although she's evolved since starting... I miss being able to carry her at times, but she has grown so lovely.

[Shiraishi hasn't seen a Roselia before... though there was a Pokémon on the screen wasn't there?]

Is Ruth the one moving the eggs? She's very lovely.

Why thank you! That's her, indeed. She bloomed a few months ago- and of course a few of those eggs are her own.

[They grow up so fast...]

She must be a happy mother. [Though from what he's seen, the Pokémon haven't really reacted on giving their eggs away.]

I'm looking forward to the day Budew evolves.

Oh yes- she's near as happy as me to see how they will all do, with breeders and trainers of their own.

[Seedlings are supposed to spread out and grow, after all!]

Don't worry - I bet it will happen soon. I think Budews are one of the Pokemon that only need a lot of love to help them evolve.

It must be a nice feeling. I guess I'll find out once I start doing breeding business, too.

That would explain why she hasn't evolved through training yet. I haven't been training her much because she seems to learn some moves early on when she evolves, but I wasn't sure how she does.

That's right- neither takes too much effort on the breeder's part, I think. At least when it's this sort of evolving.

You'd be surprised how much good a little bonding time between you and your team can do!

It's a good thing I try to keep all my Pokémon out as much as I can. I want them to be my friends more than just battle partners, after all.

That's perfect, then! You'll be close enough to help your Budew - and any others - grow in no time.
