One Seed ✿ Route 29 ✿ Video

[The screen fizzles into a view of the clear sky, before wobbling down to show the uncertain face of a brown-haired woman. The realization that she's finally turned on the gear makes her start, before she manages a polite smile.]

Excuse me- I'm sorry to broadcast like this, when I won't know anyone who answers- At least, I assume not... But I'm uncertain how I came here.

The books I have explain what I'm expected to do very well, but I'm afraid I have my own responsibilities to see to. I just arrived back home, before I was, pulled here...

[She looks off to the side, though whether she's focusing on the buildings of New Bark Town or the surrounding forest is hard to say.]

It's too bad I didn't find this place, when I was out on my journey... The land seems very fertile. And blooms such curious creatures.

[That brings on a brief show of cheer among her worrying, focused down at something at her feet. There's the unmistakable call of a Pokémon- And the call shorts out.]

[Well, not exactly a farmer, even if she knows enough. She'll clarify, though.]

Yes! Though, I was more like a teacher...I taught the little ones to read and write. Back home, they all call me Mama. It really helps, though, I think! There's a lot of big cities here, but it's all about hard work and love.

[She notices that Budew. How adorable!]

What one is yours? I haven't seen that one before.

Oh- looked after the children? We didn't have enough people in our town anymore to keep the school running... I hope this place allows you to still do what you love.

It looks like I'll get to...

[She's musing, until Sisuca draws her attention to her own company, drawing a smile.]

This is a Budew, according to that talking device I have! She's sweet- I think she's been trying to cheer me up. Or else she's just enjoying this sunshine!

Oh, yes. All together, there were four of them...my sister, my precious little one...Jale, whose mother was always traveling...and another boy who wandered to our village and stayed with us. Someone had to teach them to read and write, though! Mama loved every second.

[She smiles back, watching the Budew carefully. Such a cute one! She makes a mental note to maybe catch one for herself.]

Budew, hmm? She looks like a sweetheart, I agree with that. I bet she's trying to cheer you up! Pokémon are very smart.

You're probably right! She's was making these calls when I was upset, and responded to everything I said, as if she can understand...

[A very quiet "buuuu--" comes from the grass-type, though she doesn't twitch from her sunbathing, drawing a chuckle from Anissa.]

I wonder if I could even teach her to read, like you did your children!

They're good for when you're all alone, too. It's more fun with traveling with someone, though.

[Or so she thinks. Mama got seven badges on her own without a single travel buddy.]

I wonder! Mama never tried it. I know some work as nurses. Maybe they can read charts.

They can? Then that's reason enough for me to try! What do you say? Do you want to learn right along with me?

[The response is more curious than enthusiastic, but it's enough for Anissa. She's backtracking to wondering about travels.]

It would be! Then you can keep each other company, and work together on camping... But, is it easy to arrange something like that? Wouldn't most want to take different paths?

Or... are all roads as one way as this one?

Sounds like it could be worth a shot! I'll have to stop and pick up some books the next time I'm in a big town, then. Let's do it!

[In contrast, Sisuca is very enthusiastic! This does sound like something worth trying.]

Camping is pretty easy, since there always seems to be a good nook or cranny, even when it's raining. The roads are pretty simple, too, most of the time.

Truly? I'll have to remember to keep looking if the weather grows cold or wet, and not give up!

[Not that her current companion would mind the latter issue--]

I know it's really intimidating, starting your journey here...I'm sure someone's told you that you can't go home. It's not all bad, I promise.

Yes... As long as it's true that time pauses while I'm here, I don't mind.

[Half the reason she's rolling with the shocks is that's part of the package deal.]

I think it's true! I've heard people say so. It hasn't happened to me, though.

So, what you and your little friend going to do now?

Ah- I'm not sure, since I don't know what's ahead! But, I suppose that's it, isn't it? We'll keep going and see what this land is like for ourselves, and what to do in it.

And what grows here, of course.

That's the right attitude! I'm sure you'll have a great time, then. There are things here you can't see anywhere else.

Including grass-type Pokémon!

That's right! And I can't miss this chance...

Mmm, that is true...I like to think of it as a vacation sometimes, because there are so many nice people and fun things to do here.

Then I shouldn't let myself waste it... I better get used to traveling again, as fast as possible!

But it's neither. I was just...gone for five months. Nothing happened back home, I think. But I wasn't here.

That's right! A few of my friends had my old ones and said I was gone for a long time...but I don't remember going home, either! It's really strange.

Oh... What a relief though, that you found your former Pokémon with friends!

Are you planning on joining them, and getting your team back? Or are you in the same boat as me again?

I'm not sure yet. I'm going to Goldenrod...if you look at your map, that's the big city in the middle! I'll figure out what I'm doing by then, I think. I'll meet my friends there!

Ah, I'll have to take a second look at the map... But, it's great you know where you're headed, and what's waiting for you there.

And your not near as likely to get lost on the way, huh, since you've been here before.

Oh, you're a farmer, right? If you go north from Goldenrod, and then...East! You'll find a farm there. You should visit it. It's one of my favorite places here.

It's pretty easy not to, most of the time. I'm sure you'll be fine with it.
