[The screen switches on to show Anissa, smiling nice and proud for the onlookers. And yet when she speaks up she sounds rushed.]

Hello! I just wanted to show my progress with my Budew! And since she's found such a tough little Caterpie, we've decided to try and catch it! Just a little more now...

Okay, Ruth! Absorb!

[Here you go, watchers. One tiny little bud is fighting a bug that actually dwarfs her in size. But indeed, the health-sapping attack helps bring the Caterpie down to a struggling faint, and the Gear swerves a bit as Anissa apparently throws her pokéball-

Just as a loud noise comes from behind her, and this drifts right into sight.]

-what?!

[Too late, the pokéball grabs the wrong target, and against the odds (or, with the help of a willing victim) the capture is made.

Enjoy the silence of shocked Anissa, confused Budew, and escaping Caterpie, before the feed suddenly cuts out.]

Don't feel too bad. In my experience those are more handy than butterfree or capterpie anyway.

...Uh. Yeah... Try to watch out for Hoppip. They float on the wind.

I'm sorry, is there something funny about this? I don't know very much about Hoppips.

[Or is it something not that simple, as she fears?]

Oh, I wouldn't assume... I mean, a Butterfree might help pollinate my crops...

But, is there something special about Hoppips?

[Something to explain this behavior, perhaps?]

So I've noticed... I can't help but wonder if that was on purpose, though...

Isn't it supposed to be hard, catching a pokémon I didn't battle?

It depends on the species. Hoppip are really easy to catch, even if you don't weaken them.

-well that does clear up how I actually managed this.

But, even if I don't really mind, I will have to be careful it doesn't happen again...

Just be aware of your surroundings. That's usually all it takes.

Need not know much. Hoppips worthless.

The infamous "accidental capture"... I never thought I would see one properly recorded!

-I haven't truly met my own, but I have battled a few.

They seem to hold their own in a fight.

Clearly I'll need to practice at that a little more.

At least when I'm trying to capture something!

Definitely do it for regular battles, too. You need to know what's going on around you if you want to win.

...I guess I should be thankful to have caught it, then...

Everything will come. I had a head start because of martial arts training I got back home, and I had to learn it then, too.

I can only speak for mine personally, but he's pretty much a perpetually cheerful idiot. [Releases his jumpluff for demonstration.] Even now. [Pokes the puffs, the jumpluff just makes happy squee-ing noises.] Nothing scares him at all. Even my gyarados. But he's really useful.

Yes... I'm going to try and grow the plants of this world, myself. I thought the abilities of a Butterfree might be handy for that.

[But- Oh- Is that what a Hoppip fully grown looks like? ~~How cute!~~ And look, she's just smiling.]

Well, I wouldn't a pokémon that's always cheerful. My Ruth frets quite a bit, so maybe it can cheer her up.

Really? Wow, that background must help though, with encouraging your team in training...

I didn't really expect to do much fighting, myself. But it seems, Pokémon often want to?

They do. They enjoy fighting, and it's good to have a strong team, anyway.

I, suppose so. I haven't really observed one, save for in battles.

[Don't worry, that is a half-credible point with her. And she's picking up the ball as she talks, meaning to let it out and take a second look.]

Yes... and if being strong in fighting, is part of growing strong in general, I should help my Ruth with it more.
